Roos Jonker : Dutch singer is a hit in Asia

Just skip the short intro-interview in Dutch.
Dutch singer Roos Jonker sings 'New Dress'. She is  a hit in Asia (Japan, Thailand, Taiwan) without ever having  been there. Recently she was in Thailand for the first time and was surprised to meet real 'fans' there.

Senior couple tapes themselves by accident

This couple accidentally recorded a video of them trying to take a picture with the webcam. Their granddaughter posted it on the web and the rest is history; it went viral.
And for good reason cause it's funny and endearing.

'Mountain man' sings the sweetest and closest harmony

Mountain Man are three sweet girls singing small, fragile songs in close harmony. Accompanied by the guitar.
The harmonies are so perfect. They have a unique sound, I think.

The next clip begins with a radio interview with Mountain Man. Interesting to get to know the girls a bit more. But if you are not into that, then skip to 6.10 min and the singing will begin there.

What do you think? Are you charmed, as I am? Or is it all a bit too sweet for your taste?

William Wegman and his dogs

William Wegman is an artist who got famous by his pictures and videos of (his) dogs. He loves  Weimaraners and dresses them up for pictures and videos. By using actors, he creates the illusion of a person with a doghead. Which gives a very special and funny effect.
No worries, these dogs love to work with him and he loves them. Their breed and personalities seem to be perfect for being a model and for being the centre of attention.
First take a look at this video, in which we see William Wegman and his dogs. He talks about them and about his work with them.

William Wegman's Weimaraners star in many SesameStreet videos. Like in this hilarious one:

The next short video is one of the very early ones (1973) with his first dog named Man-Ray.
It's  funny, due to the reactions and faces of the dog.
These dogs have indeed some sort of noble, serious look, yet their flapping ears give them something comic at the same time.

For more information about his other works (drawings, etc.) you can visit William Wegman's website.
And here are some of his pictures. Arent they special, comical and gorgeous?!

Horsemaning is the new planking.

In a previous post I wrote about recent hypes like planking, owling and leisure diving.
If you would like to read this post then here is the url:
http://www.totallywowed.com/2011/07/planking-is-out-leisure-diving-is-in.html
As I wrote in that post I find that planking can result in funny pictures (and death, but that's beside the point here), I do not find owling funny at all and I find leisure diving pictures really cool.

Now there is a new hype in town, named: horse maning
If well done, the results can be fun and cool.
Here are some examples that I found on the internet:

Found on the site: The Wondrous.

Also from: The Wondrous

From The Wondrous too. Very convincing and funny, this picture.

Well done; cool!

I guess y'all have the picture by now: as if decapitated with head misplaced.
Maybe you can make your own horse maning picture ... If you succeed, please send it in and I will post it on my blog.
Now don't loose your head, boys and grrrlz! Or maybe I should say: that's exactly what you need to do! Hahaha...

Les Kiriki Acrobates Japonais

What a special, quirky video this is!
Very old (1907) and then that music and those faded out pastel colors.
Director: Segundo de Chomon.

Anything special you notice? No, I'm not gonna give it away. You will have to discover it for yourself;-).

Stuff on my cat. Stuff on my mutt.

Time for some funny animal stuff.

Let's say you have a cats or dogs. You love them. They love you. They make you laugh. But you can get more pleasure out of your animal! How?

Well, two sister sites that I love are: Stuff on my cat and Stuff on my mutt (dog). They have different categories (food on my cat, my cat on food, etc.) and ask people to send in their pictures.
It's amazing what and how much people can staple on their cat who remains totally relaxed under all that. Hilarious!

Here are some random examples. If you want to see more, do check out these two sites. The sites don't have a nice layout and look a bit disorganised, but the content is funny.
And yes, DO try this @home! But hey, hey, hey folks........let's be careful out there!

And does this all have any meaning or relevance? Nope.... Just bringing a smile on your face;-)
