Amazing, how these wild foxes play on this trampoline. Very funny!
There is so much great stuff out there. Things that move me, make me happy, wow me, make me laugh. People, animals, art, buildings...you name it. Beauty, inspiration, goodness, originality, uniqueness, humor, color, kitsch; my inner puppy is easily activated. Leaving me in awe, admiring, adoring, feeling inspired. Hopefully this blog will make your heart beat faster as well.

Showing my teeth to all evil
Dog jaws, a gallery on Flickr.
That were three days with bad news. Not only internationally, but also upclose and personal.Life and death know rhyme nor reason, so let's show our teeth and bite all evil in the ass.
And don't forget: it aint over till it's over. We WILL put up a fight first.
This blogpost I dedicate to K. and P.
As usual: DO click on the individual pictures to see them better.

Planking is out, leisure diving is in.
As you may know by now, I am a big fan of jumpology.
If not, see my previous posts:
http://totallywowed.blogspot.com/2011/07/split-jumps.html
http://totallywowed.blogspot.com/2011/07/jumping-into-surrealisme.html

So you can understand that I was happy to learn that after 'planking' (medium funny) and 'owling' (not funny) the new hype is 'leisure diving' (very funny).
More about that in these articles:

So....leisure diving; what is it?
The idea is to jump in the water in a leisurely way. Meaning that you are -for a moment- floating in the air, as if you are e.g. lying on your side, reading a book, drinking a coffee, sleeping, etc. The look on your face has to match that leisurely state. As if there was no jump at all, but just you, hanging in the air. Relaxing....
Looks very hard to realise, but the effect is funny!
There is a website with some cool pictures: http://leisuredive.com/
In a few weeks I hope to find volunteer-leisure-jumpers and take some cool pics myself;-)
If I succeed the results will be posted on this blog!

My big fat gypsy wedding
Yesterday I watched -by chance- for the first time an episode of the British documentary-series named My big fat gypsy wedding.
What can I say? As a fan of kitsch, gypsycaravans and quirky things, I found it amazing and entertaining.
The series is about two groups of gypsies: the english Romas and the irish Travel(l)ers. The Travellers seem to be sort of over-the-top gypsies with a very special lifestyle.
The girls quit school around the age of 11 to help mum with her (9 or so) children. (Huge families are the norm.) School for girls is not considered relevant anyways since they marry around the age of 16.
Although they LOOK like trailertrash/child-prostitutes before their marriage, they are allowed about nothing: no alcohol, no sex/boys, not even going anywhere alone.
Their whole life is focussed on one event: their weddingday. Their holy communion is a sort of rehearsal for that, in terms of the dress. Because the dress needs to be huger then huge.
The dresses are SO enormous and SO heavy (30 petticoats and kgs of strassstones are not unusual) that they almost cannot walk proparly in them, almost not sit in them, not pass doorways. Some are even too wide to allow walking to the isle, between the benches! Often the dress hurts and wounds the girls, but they wear the scars with pride.
There has been criticisme about the series, both from inside and outside the gypsyworld.
Well, the images are too deliciously over-the-top and unbelievable not to share them, so here they are:

I find it highly entertaining and fascinating, this subculture; a world in its own. One has to admit that it's colourfull! And if THESE weddingdresses are not TOTALLY WOWED, then which dresses are???!!!;-)
